[Headcanon] Summary
Jan. 31st, 2020 11:01 pmHe likes being called King Alfred or King of Spades. but his subjects call him, your highness. In this kingdom, it takes centuries before its rulers are changed. This is because of its castle Sapphiro. This is the heart of the kingdom's magic. All those people who stay in Sapphiro, stop aging immediately after they step in the gates and with the current king's approval. And death may only come through a stab in their hearts. This was to allow continuity in their rule. When the seat is empty a new one is chosen by the council or the queen.
The kings were chosen based on their power. The Queen had the ability to see(sense) who was the next king. Unfortunately, Alfred was still a child when he was asked to ascend the throne. He hasn't learned the difference from right or wrong. He still didn't have his own identity. He never had a chance to be a real kid. But with time magic, his body became that of an adult's. Everybody simply taught him how to become a king. From manner of speech to actions. However, everyone knew what he really was, an overgrown kid. This was why, in front of his people, he acted like an innocent child. He played with them, and always tried to cheer them up.
He always tried to compensate. He read, wrote and worked all evening, just so he can understand everything. He loves sugary drinks and sweet food because he always needed energy. He always lack sleep. But he can't stop. A whole kingdom depended on him. He does not like having enemies, or people who thinks differently from he does. Thus he has someone who gets rid of them for him. And when asked about it, he always plays innocent.
He has a queen, but they are not romantically involved. He is intimidated by the queen. he knows that the king was just a kid deep inside. No matter how mature he tried to appear, he felt like the queen saw him as just a small child. Yet, he wants to look like a real man in front of him. The king wants to be a strong man whom the queen would be enamored by. Because he looked up to him.
